KEEP CALM AND Date A Pastors Daughter
I was perplexed by this approach. I had thought it best to ask the dad first, cut out the middle man, cause asking her if you can ask her dad is really asking her out from the get go, this doesn’t show much integrity. I’m planning on doing that, but i don’t know how soon… not to put down your response, just my take… and response. How do you ask out the pastors daughter?

This is an open letter to young men out there. All types of young men: my twenty-one-year-old son, young men in my church, and more particularly—young men who would like to date my daughters. With one daughter having graduated from college and another in college, I have observed your dateless world. With a cultural war on manhood, you have lost markers that give you confidence. Allow a former young man to give you some guidance. You are growing up in a less formal world.
But you are not the better for it. And you take this informality into your relationship with the opposite sex. Indeed, informality can be a benefit to seeing each other as friends. Relationships are blurry. It can also lead to confusing and blurry relationships. Since I am assuming that you are a follower of Jesus Christ, then like all things, you are to do this to bring glory of God. And to do that you should start with the right motivation. First, treat my daughter as you would treat your sister—with absolute purity.
A Pastor’s Daughter
This is a tough call. I had to back away from some of my co-workers who thought it was polite to invite themselves as well to my wedding. I would approach it in a very polite manner and simply state something like, ” we really appreciate your love and support for us, but at this time we are still making arrangements with everything”.
“Well the preacher tried his best. To keep the girl in line. She undermines all that he believes. The beast could not be caged. And the daughter has her way.

By: Vanderbloemen August 22, I am the daughter of a pastor. If you’re a pastor’s kid, whether your parents are still in ministry or not, people still look at you with a certain standard or even certain stereotypes. He explains how they are typically left between a rock and a hard place, between being considered rebels or being overly legalistic which leads to identity issues and scrutiny. People tend to often unfairly project these expectations on children of pastors.
So how do these expectations compare to what pastor’s kids are actually going through? They feel that the love of the church and the church community is more important than being there for them. He also reminded me often that I was important to him. This helped reassure me that I was a priority in my dad’s life, and that he would carve out time away from ministry to give me the gift of his time.
We are all imperfect sinners.

I was born in Wylie, TX. This explains why I’m such a huge Dallas Cowboys football fan. This explains my obsession with LSU football and eating crawfish. God was the priority in our home and church attendance was not an option.
A pastor from Florida has a few rules, well actually the “Ten Commandments of Dating my Daughter.” Pastor Doug Giles, author of the book.
I remember vividly when the book I Kissed Dating Goodbye came out. The best seller by Joshua Harris was recently back in the spotlight when Harris announced on social media that he separated from his wife and left the Christian faith. My parents, like many other Christian leaders and parents at that time, came of age in the sexual revolution.
They were personally impacted by the dramatic cultural changes that came as their generation denounced previously accepted sexual values such as saving sex for marriage, marital fidelity, and sexual self-restraint. As they came to faith and later went on to become parents and leaders in Christian ministry, one of their main goals was to create a church environment that modeled an alternative lifestyle to the increasing promiscuity in secular culture, with the hopes of protecting the next generation from making the same relational mistakes that they made.
For many, this took shape through teachings on the importance of sexual purity, home and private faith-based schooling, and the elimination of dating in church youth groups. The explanation was that dating was a slippery slope that led to premature emotional, physical, and spiritual intimacy that would compromise personal holiness and weaken Christian commitment. In theory, if Christian youth were kept from dating until they were old enough to consider marriage, then it would minimize the opportunity for sexual mistakes and relational breakdown and pave the way for them to arrive at their wedding day spiritually, emotionally, and sexually whole.
I genuinely believe that at the heart of these teachings there was a healthy desire to promote a biblically based and Christ-centered culture of mutual honor, spiritual purity, and personal holiness. However, even the soundest of theological teachings can at best be difficult to translate into daily practice and at worst, misinterpreted or reframed as legalistic requirements for Christian living that far exceed what is written in Scripture.
Drawing from fourteen years of fulltime Christian ministry combined with the experiences of friends and family, I have journeyed with many raised under similar teaching through very mixed feelings and outcomes.

Preacher’s kid is a term to refer to a child of a preacher , pastor , deacon , vicar , lay leader , priest , minister or other similar church leader. Although the phrase can be used in a purely descriptive way, it may also be used as a stereotype. Children of clergy often experience pressure due to the expectations placed on them, and may develop feelings of isolation and inner conflict as a result.
I had to keep on the go. Children of clergy may be more exposed than their peers to the defining events of life.

Something on your mind? Ask Willie D! I’m a single year-old man with no kids. I haven’t had a relationship in a while. I work two jobs to help my mother, who had been working for the Houston Chronicle newspaper for twentysomething years. They laid her off in , now she has a new job but it doesn’t pay well. She couldn’t pay her mortgage and utilities by herself so I stepped in to help her out. To save money I decided to move back in with my mom but people view this as a negative thing.
I mean, it’s not like I’m sitting at home doing nothing and making babies like a lot of mama’s boys do. I really want to have a relationship with a lady but it seems I can’t because of my situation. What can I do? You’re right in that society frowns on grown men who live with their mothers. As with the expectation of a woman being wholesome, it’s one of those double-standard things we have to live with.
To a woman, a man living with his mother under any circumstances is not attractive.
